DERAWAN - Indonesian Borneo May 17 thru 28, 2010 The east coast of Kalimantan offers some of the most spectacular walls in indonesia. Schools of thousands of Barracudas, mantas, the unique jellyfish lake and the nesting turtles are among the highlights. Join Tim Rock and Simon Pridmore for a trip to this remote place where Sangalaki Island, Kakaban and others offer great diving. Just south of the famous Sipadan Island of Borneo, Malaysia. Little by little Derawan is getting a reputation for great big fish like mantas and schools of barracuda as well as a great place for small stuff including leaf fish, nudibranchs and mandarinfish. This area has one of the world's few jellyfish marine lakes and Sangalaki is a sea turtle nesting sanctuary. We will be concentrating the diving in the outer islands where few people dive. There will certainly be wonderful marine surprises.
